Dr Jekyll or Mr Hyde

The clock is ticking and we are into the final days leading up to the non race of the year - Gran Fondo 2012. As you might recall from last year's event (Gran Fondo 2011) the brave warriors of the NECS battled torrential rains to complete one of the most amazing rides on record. Well this year it looks to be the polar opposite with our local weather person, Amy Freeze, calling for temps in the mid to upper 90's on non race day.
Should temps rise to the occasion, we here at the MRC want you to know where the local refill stations will be located. First one is the Vallejo at the intersection of 44/55 & 209 (mile 26). If everyone is on track we can push this to the local market at the intersection of 209 & 52 (mile 31). Once we leave the safety of the real world and head into the backwoods of Peekamoose (where you shouldn't be surprised to find characters like this),
you might be lucky to find some sustenance at the local store (mile 48), but this could mean a potential life of slavery on the local farm so please plan accordingly for the climb up and over Peekamoose. After the lively descent there is a local store (mile 60) that might have supplies but if you can hang in there the reward of Bread Alone - great food, water and of course ESPRESSO (mile 65) - will await the discerning pallet.

The board of directors of the MRC highly, like in Towelie highly, recommend that one gorge themselves at Bread Alone since the next available stop is either Casa de Braveheart or Casa de Top Chef (if you are bailing out) or if you are on pace the Vallejo at 44/55 & 209 (mile 87). Once you roll out of Vallejo the next stop is the Casa de C-Dubbs (mile 105) where burgers, dogs, growlers and beers will await everyone. And don't forget to bring your towel so you can enjoy a nice outdoor shower with a river view and the six pack of beer for post non race celebration.
And if you were one of the lucky ones to sign up early your ride will be sporting one of these collector NECS/MRC spoke cards.
